Carole King - Up On The Roof

彼女のソロ・デビュー・アルバム「Writer」(70) から " Up on the Roof " を私訳。彼女がこの曲をジェリー・ゴフィンと共作してドリフターズに提供したのが62年、20歳の時。以降も彼女は楽曲の提供を続けますが、68年にチャールズ・ラーキ、ダニー・コーチマーと共にバンド「シティ」を結成してアルバム「夢語り」をリリース。しかし商業的不振によりバンドは消滅してしまいます。2年後、彼女はこのソロ・アルバムを製作するに至って当時のバンドメンバーを集め、以前自身が提供していたこの曲を吹き込むことになりました。そんな経緯を持つこのアルバム、結構いいですよ。
