「Al Green Is Love」(75) から " L-O-V-E (Love) " を私訳。アルバム・タイトル、曲名ともに、なんのヒネリもなく直球勝負･･･良いですね。なかなかこのタイトルを掲げることは難しいと思えるだけに、それだけ自信作であるという証なのか。歌詞はアル・グリーンとウイリー・ミッチェルの共作。このふたりが組んだ時には特別な何かが生まれるのか、今回のも実に良い温度感に仕上がっています。これからは辞書の「愛」の項目には「アル・グリーンの曲を聴けば分かる」と書くべきだし、彼等ふたりが描く歌詞の主人公は間違いなく良いヤツだ。
