「Rise & Fall Rage & Grace」(08) から " Stuff is Messed Up " を私訳。前作、前々作は彼等にしてはおとなしい出来になっていましたが、このアルバムで4th「Ixnay on the Hombre」(97) までにあった「一度聴いただけで耳に残るフック」が復活したのがなにより。彼等の歌詞は一見するとシニカルだけど、その根っこは「ひとりひとりが考え、受け止め、変えて行く」というパーソナルな部分に根ざしている。そんな彼等のシニカルさってビター・スウィート。
