Lordi - Bringing Back The Balls To Rock

「The Arockalypse」(06) から " Bringing Back The Balls To Rock " を私訳。この歌詞の中には多くのハードロック、ヘヴィーメタル・バンド(アクセプト、ジューダス・プリースト、KISS、オジー・オズボーン、AC/DC)を彷彿させる部分があって、非常に楽しくてリスペクトに満ちた一曲。

バンド・メンバーがコスプレしてるバンドといえばKISS、GWARが思い浮かぶけど、2002年、ローディがフィンランドから登場。元、KISSファンクラブの会長でもあるMr.ローディが率いるこのバンドはさっき書いたバンド以外にもアリス・クーパーやキング・ダイヤモンドからの影響もアルバムの中に散りばめていて、80年代のハードロック好きには溜まらない音を聴かせてくれる。

彼等の良さというのはそのハードな楽曲の中にポップを混ぜたところにあるのだけど、歌詞もおもしろいし、シングル・カットされる曲のPVは、ちょっとしたホラー映画仕立てで構成されていて、これまたおもしろい。また彼等の楽曲の特徴は一回聴いたら、すぐに口ずさめる曲調を作るのが非常にうまいこと。
汝、色モノと思って侮るなかれって感じです(笑)

歌詞に出てくる　We're the SMF, with metal hearts. のSMF は Super Metal Famiry と解釈。だからここの訳は「超鋼鉄家族の我々は鋼の心で結束している」としてみました。
