The Weepies は Deb Talan (女性) と Steve Tannen (男性) によって2001年に結成されたフォーク・デュオ。元々ふたりはソロ活動をしていたのだけど、互いにファンだっということもあって親交を深め、やがて結婚に至ったそうです。だからかも知れないけど彼女達が書く恋の歌は等身大っぽい表現が多く、まるで友達の馴れ初めを聞いているかのような雰囲気。
